Side view of 13 - Head Rotary Barrel Filler taken in designed and manufactured by Vickerd Ruwolt for Carlton and United in May 1957. Photo taken in Vickers Ruwolt Fitting Shop. The machine was developed and designed by Vickers Ruwolt for Carlton and United. A second machine was manufactured for Carlton and United 2 years later and both were installed in the Carlton Brewery (MM012620). A third Filler was also supplied to the CUB Brewery in Cairns, Queensland. In 1972 Vickers Ruwolt manufactured and supplied a similar machine to Stella Artois in Belgium. This required some re-design as European beer casks have their filler cap on the side of the cask unlike Australian which have their filler caps at the end of the cask.
