A bronze prize medal (38 mm diameter) won by Thomas Strachn for dried fruit at the 1883 Bendigo Agricultural and Horticultural Society show. It features the Arms of Bendigo with horse and bull supporters and the motto PROGRESS and details of the award.

Thomas Strachan was a prolific medal-winner at the County of Bendigo Agricultural and Horticultural Society. His medals included: bronze medal for excellence in wine in 1878 [NU 32246]; silver medal for red wine in 1878 [NU 32240]; silver medal for excellence in wine in 1878 [NU 32241]; silver medal for jams and jellies in 1879 [NU 32242]; bronze prize for for bottled fruit in 1879 [NU 32243]; and bronze medal for dried fruit in 1883 [NU 32244].
