Summary
Silver Denarius struck during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian between 119 and 122 AD, Ancient Roman Empire. Minted by Rome. Hadrian was Consul for the third and final time (COS III on this coin) from 1 Jan 119, the production of this coin therefore belongs after that date. It is believed the mint was largely inactive when the emperor was away from Rome 121 to late 125 AD and when production began again a new obverse legend HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS was used. This coins commemorates the third ocasion on which Hadrian distributed money to the citizens of Rome.
