Significance
Attribution to mints of this issue is based on the master tools employed to make the working dies. In this case there is a small double leaf in the scroll below the centre numerals of the date, this is called Type I and is attributed to the Bombay mint (issues from the Calcutta mint have a single large leaf at that point on the scroll, called Type II). Bombay ceased production of this denomination in 1890.
