Summary

Black and white photograph of shops later known as Hampshire House on the west side of Hampshire Road with the corner of Devonshire Road, Sunshine. The two-storey building was built in 1924 and was originally home to a furniture store and the State Electrical Commission of Victoria. Following World War II, H.V McKay Massey Harris used the building to host various social functions such as arts and crafts exhibitions, meetings, dinners and dancing classes. It also housed a library for employees.

This is part of the H. V. McKay Sunshine Collection which includes photographs, films, businesss records, personal papers, objects, trade literature, company publications and oral histories.
