Summary
The Royal Air Force Association issued this medal in 1970 to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding. The Association was originally called the Australian Flying Corps, and comprised mainly of World War I pilots. Today the Association supports Australian defence (particularly air defence) and Australian aviation, and cares for serving and ex-servicemen and women through repatriation and military compensation. It has branches in every state.
