The Royal Australian Air Force Association (RAAFA) was formed in 1920 as the Australian Flying Corps Association. The core of its membership were World War I pilots.
Today the RAAFA has Divisions in every state. Its national office is in Sydney.
The Association supports Australian defence (particularly air defence) and Australian aviation, and cares for serving and ex-servicemen and women through repatriation and military compensation. The Association maintains welfare advisors at State and Branch levels and has developed Retirement Estates, Aged Care Services and an Aviation Heritage Museum in Western Australia.
