Motorcycles on display at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne circa 1955. Firms visible are Mayfair Motors and Disney's Motors. Disney's Motors ceased trading in 1959 and sold British-built Norton and Excelsior machines. Mayfair Motors was the local agent for the British Panther and German-built Adler bikes and examples of each make are seen in the forground. A vintage Indian machine is also positioned in the middle of the Mayfair Motors stand. In 1956-57 Mayfair's became the first importer of Japanese motorcycles in Melbourne taking up the Honda distributorship.
