Summary
Small photograph of 'The Two Bills' Egypt, 1915-1916. The photograph is part of a collection of photographs belonging to Alfred Galbraith. Sapper Galbraith was in Egypt with the 2nd and 5th Division from December 1915 to June 1916, when the 5th Division sailed to France. He died in France on 15 July 1916.
The photograph was apparently taken with an 'autographic' camera - one that allowed the user to write an inscription on the undeveloped film though an small door in the camera body, using a tiny stylus. Galbraith's camera, later in the possession of his niece, was an autographic camera.
