Summary

Badge, 'Don't Celebrate '88 Rock Against Racism', alternatively known as a button, was made by Patrick Bros Melbourne circa 1988. The badge was created to raise awareness of indigenous issues and responses to Australia's bicentenary celebrations. Many campaigners considered the white settlement of Australia in 1788 an invasion rather than arrival. The slogan on the badge, 'Don't Celebrate', was a play on the official bicentennial slogan, 'Celebration of A Nation'.
