General Description
Body colour varies, usually brown. Young snakes have a black head and occasionally dark stripes across the body. Up to 2 m long.
Biology
Common Brown Snakes mostly eat lizards and mammals. Females lay up to 35 eggs in cracks in soil.
Distribution
Eastern and parts of northern central mainland Australia.
Habitat
Most areas including coastal heath, dry sclerophyll forests and woodlands.
