Summary
Counterweighted indicator gauge for showing the depth of sewage water in No.4 Pump Well, South Engine Room, Spotswood Sewerage Pumping Station. Indicator column is mounted above floor level against the west wall of the Engine Room, behind Well No.4. The metal column has a scale from 1-15 in feet painted on it. A secondary scale also marked in feet from 1-13, is painted on a separate wooden indicator board fixed to column with metal brackets and offset such that the 1 ft mark on the indicator board is aligned with approximately the 3¼ ft mark on the column scale. Both scales marked in feet, with intermediate marks at each quarter foot (3 inches). Scale ratio is 1:1 (1 foot = 304.8 mm).
