Summary
Electric warning bell associated with No.4 Pmp Well in the South Engine Room of Spotswood Pumping Station. Probably used as an alarm to communicate between workers above and below ground, perhaps as part of the operation of the single-person electric passenger lift fitted in the same well. The bell has a toggle switch with round baseplate wired to the bell on the same mounting board, which appears to have worked as an on/off siwtch to activiate the bell.
