This lantern slide is part of the Francis Collection of pre-cinematic apparatus and ephemera, acquired by the Australian and Victorian Governments in 1975. David Francis was the curator of the National Film and Sound Archive of the British Film Institute as well as being a co-founder of the Museum of the Moving Image in London, which was operational between 1988 and 1999.

Description of Content

Lantern slide showing a person talking to a boy in a rural landscape comprised of field and wood rail fence. The person - probably a woman - wears a red head scarf, green cape and yellow tunic, and carries a stick. The boy wears a red jacket, blue trousers, brown shoes and carries a glue hat. He also holds a stick.

Lantern slide featuring a colour image printed on glass with black paper edging. A second piece of glass is attached to protect the printed image.
