Advertising slogans include 'Kodak suggests a "Give and Take" Christmas' and 'Here's to Better Pictures! 10 Kodak ways to improve your snapshots.' This scrapbook contains a variety of different material from advertising clippings to product catalogues and price lists, various drafts and documents relating to Kodak press releases and a large amount of advertising content promoting photography as a hobby alongside Kodak products. Advertising material has been prepared by Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Physical Description

Large paper scrapbook with brown 95 paper pages, plus brown paper front and back cover, bound with cardboard and five metal staples along the spine. The last fifty pages of this scrapbook have been left blank. The book contains paper-based advertising clippings, brochures, letters and invitations. All clippings are attached with sticky tape. A number of clippings are loose inside the scrapbook. The promotional materials range in size from 240 mm (W) x 334 mm (H) to 80 mm (W) x 87 mm (H).
