Summary
Copy of a medal with a portrait of Theophrastus Paracelsus (a Swiss-German alchemist and physician 1493-1541). The original medal, by an unknown artist, was made in 1541, the year of Theophrastus' death. This uniface electrotype copy made circa 1881 by Robert Ready. This uniface electrotype is copper plated and toned, it was taken from a original medal that has not been traced. Paracelsus was a Swiss German occultist, also physician, botanist, alchemist and astrologer.
