Summary
Black and white, half plate glass negative featuring an aerial view of the Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd factory at Abbotsford, circa 1930s. This oblique view looks south east and shows the multistorey curved building on Southampton crescent and various factory buildings in the lower centre of frame, including silver recovery tanks and tennis courts in the lower foreground. In the upper left the Yarra River is visible with market gardens on the Western bank and parkland to the East. Suburban streets and houses are visible beyond the factory complex to the East.
This is one of nine black and white half plate glass negatives in an original Austral Plates box. It is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
