Summary
This boxed plastic model kit is an example of the Phar Lap related merchandise sold in the Museum of Victoria shop in the 1980s.
It was made by the Breyer Animal Creations company in the USA as part of a series of models named after famous racehorses. The model itself bears little resemblance to the real horse.
Physical Description
Plastic model of Phar Lap, chestnut brown in colour with two white socks. Hand-painted, in plastic bag. Box has picture of horse on front with printed text. Two sides of box have picture of Phar Lap and other details. The other two sides have the same picture with additional brief history. Box is brown, black and gold. Catalogue has eight panels in all colours but largely brown.
