Summary
Educational Technic Logo programmable, tethered floor-roving, self-construction robot, known as the Turtle. Made by LEGO in 1987, it comes with manuals and instruction booklets.
Following on from the earlier "Turtle" robots, which were also Logo-specific, this LEGO adaptation ushered in a new generation of programmable educational toys/robots.
This 9700-8 was was owned and used by David Williams as part of Sunrise Research in the 1980s.
This object forms part of the Sunrise Collection which includes educational robots, software and multimedia recordings of teachers and students, mainly in Victoria, exploring new possibilities with computer programming.
