Catalogue for the LEGO Educational System which included the LEGO Turtle TC that was programmable using logo language software.
Following on from the earlier "Turtle" robots, which were also Logo-specific, this LEGO adaptation ushered in a new generation of programmable educational toys/robots made by LEGO.
This 9700-8 was was owned and used by David Williams as part of Sunrise Research in the 1980s.
This object forms part of the Sunrise Collection which includes educational robots, software and multimedia recordings of teachers and students, mainly in Victoria, exploring new possibilities with computer programming. 'Computational thinking' in a constructionist environment was emerging in Victoria throughout the 1980s and 90s.
