Summary
Alternative Name(s): Button
Round badge with the slogan 'Take the Toys From the Boys', circa 1960s-1980s. This is one of a series of badges and peace movement posters acquired by the museum following the exhibition 'Peace: an Exhibition' which explored the Peace movement and was part of the Victorian Government contribution to International Year of Peace in 1986. The badges explore the peace movement, nuclear disarmament and Hiroshima. The inscription probably comes from a song written in the early 1980s by The Fallout Marching Band, one of the most famous political street bands. The slogan was a very popular one in that decade, being sung and shouted at anti-nuclear rallies across the world.
Physical Description
