This badge was used circa 1970 - 1983. It was made in support of theTroops Out Movement formed in 1973 by Irish activists in London. It came as a response to the situation known as The Troubles, the political and nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland spanning from the 1960s into the 1990s. The Troops Out Movement campaigned for the removal of British troops as well as for a re-united Ireland.
Physical Description
This is a circular badge. The background colour is green. The inscription is written in black at the bottom of the badge. Above this there is a picture of England and Ireland. The outline of England is made into a soldier with a helmet on and holding a truncheon. The back of the badge is metal and the fastening is a pin.
