Badge with the slogan 'Earth is Flat, Pigs Can Fly....', made circa 1980. This is one of a series of badges and peace movement posters acquired by the museum following the exhibition 'Peace: an Exhibition' which explored the Peace movement and was part of the Victorian Government contribution to International Year of Peace in 1986. This was a very popular slogan of the Nuclear Disarmament movement, used by Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, among many others.
Physical Description
Round metal badge with plastic face and lockable pin on the back. Back is metallic silver. Face is purple with orange text, there is a pig with wings at the top of the badge.
