Summary
Solar radiation thermometer, used to furnish an estimate of intensity of solar radiation. Scale marked 10 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Made by J. Hicks, London, and furnished with a Certificate of Examination by the National Physical Laboratory, Kew Observatory, Richmond, Surrey, signed by R.T. Glazebrook, Director, dated December 1906. Used at Melbourne Observatory.
Physical Description
The bulb and 1 1/2 inches of the stem are coated with dull lamp black. The thermometer is enclosed in a glass sheath completely exhausted of air. Divided on the stem and figured every 10 degrees.
