Summary

Large triode designed for use in high powered audio amplifiers used for example in sound film and public address. A pair of them would produce about 600 watts of audio. Also used as modulator, which adds a modulating signal to the carrier wave.

It was donated by 3KZ Radio Station, 64 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne in 1936 and manufactured by Philips Holland.

Thoriated tungsten w-shaped filament with tension springs; 11 volts at 2.5 amps. Anode 2000 volts at 1125 ma.Equivalent to MC2/200

Physical Description

Cylindrical bulb with nickel plated end caps, mounted on wooden block with display label. Base Has two round and one flat pin.
