Mercury vapour rectifier, made by Philips in Holland in the early 1930s. Used for high power supply in transmitters.
Donated by 3KZ Radio Station - 64 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne in 1936. 3KZ was first licensed to broadcast on 8 December 1930.
The valve is sectioned.
Physical Description
Sectioned bulb mounted on a display block with a similar valve ST 21490. Most of bulb is missing. Large Edison screw base. Top cap with bakelite and knurled brass terminal, mounted on vertical stand in approximately correct position
