Summary
Naval ratings cap with H.M.A.S Melbourne said to have belonged to Stoker William Sorell. Sorell served on H.M.A.S Melbourne during World War I (Royal Australian Navy).
Note: the name William Sorell may be incorrect - it does not appear in World War I records for anyone who was in the naval services. The names Sorrell and Sorrel have also been checked, to no avail. Further research is required.
Note that this cap has the same appearance as one of the caps worn by Cole's 'Little Men' - ST 028991.
