Item ST 22131 Dip Needles - Dover, Charlton, Kent, England, circa 1880s-1900s

Summary

Pair of dip needles, 9 cm long, in a zinc case. Needles marked 'Dover, 3A and B', 'Dover 4A and B'. Used at Melbourne Observatory to measure changes in the Earth's magnetic field.
