Significance
The Macedonian shield on the reverse is thought to refer to the victory of T. Quinctius Flamininus, an ancestor of the moneyer, over Philip V in the Second Macedonian War and proclaimed the 'freedom of Greece' at the Isthmian Games of 196 BC.
