Listed in Eugene von Guerard's catalogue, vol.1, p.11. Purchased by Eugene von Guerard from Mr Friedlander of Berlin for 3 shillings. The coin became separated from its origin and was found in the NGV Safe during McArthur Bequest incorporation, about 1904. The date 1880 was the year that the National Gallery of Victoria purchased Eugene von Guerard's collection. The NGV Numismatics collection was transferred to the Science Museum of Victoria in 1976. -
