Other Details: This bronze Commissioner's medal was awarded to Professor Frederick McCoy for Services at Australian international exhibitions held between 1879 and 1881. He was one of first four professors of the University of Melbourne, which opened in April 1855; two years later he was appointed Director of the Museum of Natural and Applied Sciences. McCoy served as a member of the Council of the University 1882-87 and President of the Royal Society of Victoria Council.

A large bronze medal (75 mm diameter) awarded for services to the Royal Commission, it features a head of Albert, Prince of Wales, and details of the award
