Physical Description

Six chambered cylinder with standard length flutes, steel trigger guard, solid steel frame, steel back strap, black two-piece finely chequered hard rubber grips with 'COLT' framed in an oval at grip upper on both sides, modified blade front sight, loading gate on R.H.side. Knurling on hammer is fine and unframed. Barrel address is a Hartford address. Serial number 301573, loading gate is number 3278. Two-line patent stamping on L.H.side of frame. Stamped on L.H.side of triggerguard 'VP' and 6, denoting firearm's final check as being positive. The individual single-digit is the number code of the inspector. Good original blueing to frame, triggerguard, barrel and ejector tube. In very good condition. Good original blueing to frame, triggerguard, barrel and ejector tube. Case is a genuine Colt second generation case, wooden, with a bronze 'COLT/ CUSTOM' escutcheon inlaid into the lid L.R.corner. It is lined internally in a red pile fabric and has a pair of cast brass swords fastened to the body lining on the left hand side next to an enamelled Colt plaque which reads 'COLT/MADE ONLY IN THE/USA'. There are no accessories and the only compartment in the case if the recessed stencil for the revolver itself.
