Summary
Copy of a medal of Alessandro Farnese. The original medal by Giampaolo (Gianpaolo) Poggini, was cast in about 1558. This uniface electrotype copy was made circa 1881 Robert Ready. This uniface electrotype copy was made circa 1881 at British Museum by Robert Ready from a two sided lead cast from the collection of George III held by that museum (Reg: G3,VP.82). The electrotype is copper plated and toned, only the obverse is held.
