Pair of leather leggings, World War I. Complete with straps. Belonged to Corporal H.J.Hutchinson, 4th Light Horse.

Corporal Herbert John Hutchinson, service number 1484, was 20 and a grocer's assistant when he enlisted, and embarked on 29 October 1915, (little more than one month after he enlisted), on the HMAT Palermo. He servied in Egypt at places including Heliopolis (now a suburb of Cairo with a war cemetery), Moascar (North Egypt), Ferry Post and Abou Matamir. He was considered to still be in good health when he returned to Australia in June 1919.
