Summary

Sterneck pendulum gravity apparatus for measuring value of g, the acceleration due to gravity.

In 1893, Pietro Baracchi made observations at Melbourne Observatory for comparison with those made at Greenwich in 1889 and Kew in 1888, by which the value of g for Melbourne could be differentially determined.
