Summary

Pendulum gravity apparatus erected in an office at Melbourne Observatory. This was probably taken in 1893, when Pietro Baracchi made observations for comparison with those made at Greenwich in 1889 and Kew in 1888, by which the value of g for Melbourne could be differentially determined.
