Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd published a number of newsletters and magazines for staff and retail dealers throughout the 20th century.

In 1923 the Kodak Works Bulletin was produced for staff to be kept informed about the company and to get to know their colleagues.

The Kodak Staff Service Bulletin was produced during World War II between 1941 and 1946. This simple typed summary of news and events allowed staff in Australia to receive news about those on active service and for staff on active service to remain up to date with company news.

In 1956 the Kodak Sales News, a new staff publication, began. As with the Kodak Works Bulletin, these newsletters were for the internal use of staff to keep them abreast of nationwide news and events relating to the company.

In 1964 Kodak Dealer News began being published and was distributed specifically to Kodak's retail dealers to keep them up to date with new products, along with suggestions for marketing displays and information about upcoming advertising campaigns.

From 1966 the Kodak Dealer News often included a double-sided, single page newsletter called the Photo-Finishing Newsletter that contained more detailed information about products, services and news relating to developing film.

By 1968 the Kodak Sales News was replaced by the Australian Kodakery as the company's staff newsletter.

Kodak Sales News was re-launched in the early 1970s to provide dedicated information about advertising campaigns and the products themselves.

The Australian Kodakery was renamed Kodak News in 1985.


Holdings

Museums Victoria holds a large collection of the newsletters produced by Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd, including the complete series of the Kodak Staff Service Bulletin, almost the entire run of the Australian Kodakery and Kodak News, and examples of four of the issues of the Kodak Works Bulletin. The collection also contains examples of Manufacturing News for staff and large numbers of the Kodak Sales News and Kodak Dealer News.
