Summary

One of sixty-nine black and white and sepia photographs in a bound album [six of which are loose] taken by A J Campbell during a Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria expedition to Kent Group of islands, Bass Strait in 1890. The album also includes a map of Kent Group in the inside front cover and numerous contemporary newspaper clippings relating to the expedition.

Description of Content

Members of the Field Naturalists Club of Victoria setting out on a boating expedition on Erith Island, the Kent Group, Bass Strait. Pictured are six men in a row boat with three other men and a boy on the foreshore. In the background is a rocky cliff at the base of which is a wooden enclosure. Photograph taken by Archibald J. Campbell during a scientific expedition by the Club to the Kent Group islands in 1890.
