Summary
Jockey's whip believed to have been used by jockeys riding the champion racehorse Phar Lap. It was retained by the family of his trainer Harry Telford, and was amongst a number of items donated to the Museum by them in the 1990s.
Physical Description
Brown leather jockey whip, consisting of a long woven handle with a tapered metal knob on one end and a double thickness leather flap at the other end. There are lengths of woven leather bound around the handle in several places.
