Summary

Scrapbook compiled by Kodak Australasia. It contains 26 archival items produced in the 1930s before World War Two.

The archival items are advertisement proofs for Kodak products. The products and subjects include photographic film and papers, cameras and accessories, photographic film processing equipment, facsimile transmission and darkroom accessories. Some of the advertisements relate to Kodak products, but others promote the profession of photography itself and the benefits it may provide to various business ventures.

They include colour, and black and white promotional leaflets for Kodak products that were mainly made in Australia. The products and subjects include cameras, film, film processing, moving footage products and equipment, medical imagery and educational information on using Kodak products.

The leaflets relate to Christmas and other special promotions. Advertising slogans include "Invite the Brownie Family this Christmas". They also refer to specialist products, for example "Bone Pathology - only Radiographs can provide definite diagnostic facts". This scrapbook is almost identical to HT 20174 regarding content.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This scrapbook is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005 when the Melbourne manufacturing plant closed down.
