Summary
This letter of sympathy was one of a large number sent to his trainer and part owner Harry Telford after Phar Lap died in April, 1932. The Telford family retained the letters, and they were donated to the museum in the 1990s.

Text: Dear/Mr. Telford/I am sending this letter of sympathy/to both of you gentlemen/This is a letter for/sympathy because of Phar Lap's death/I am very sorry for Mr./Woodcock for he was serving very/well as a master to Phar Lap and/it is a great loss to him./Mr. H. Telford Phar Lap/was the world's greatest racehorse/champion. He is the most wonderful/horse the world has ever known.
