Summary
Letter of sympathy that was one of a large number sent to trainer and part owner Harry Telford after Phar Lap died in April, 1932. The Telford family retained the letters, and they were donated to the museum in the 1990s.

Text: Wouldn't be surprised if/Woodcock comes to an untimely end/Dear Mr. Telford/Please don't let the inquiry/into Phar Laps death lapse. I fell sure/that magnificent hoses was deliberately/poisoned & 2 paddocks sprayed so/cleverly with poison. Knowing that/the world's wonder horse was near/[Illegible] his daily food. In any/civilised country if poison is/sprayed a notice is put up to/that effect to save even a dog/from being poisoned. Then/who was responsible for/spraying the paddocks & not/putting up notices to that effect.
