    Text: Dear Mr. Telford/My/husband joins me/in expressing to/you our very deepest/sympathy/in the/great loss you have/sustained at the/death of your/very wonderful/horse Phar Lap./When the news came/over the air we/were all petrified/with shock. We/couldnt think/that the beautiful/animal we all/admired so much/had gone for ever./I must confess/that the tears/refused to stay/back when I/heard. We have/always followed/with the keenest/interest all his/doings & altho/we had never/had the pleasure/of seeing him/in real life/we had grown/to love him &/had promised/ourselves a trip/to Victoria if he/raced there again/Our sympathy is/with you the more/as you were unable/to be with him/at the last./I am enclosing/ a stamp in the/hopes that if you/have a snapshot/of Phar Lap you will/send me one. I/assure you there/will not be a more/treasured picture in our home./Again asking you/to accept our deepest/sympathy.
