Summary
This letter of sympathy was one of a large number sent to his trainer and part owner Harry Telford after Phar Lap died in April, 1932. The Telford family retained the letters, and they were donated to the museum in the 1990s.

Text: Dear Mr. Telford/I just feel I must/write to you to say how upset/I feel about your dear loved/noble horse, Phar Lap./Oh, what you & Mr. Davis/must feel, yu must be heart-broken/What a wicked thing to do/Surely it will be found out,/I do hope so./America is a fearful place,/I think lawless country./I am like yourself a great/lover of animals, especially/horses & dogs.
